Prof. Jinbao Zhang, Xiamen University, China

Professor Zhang is currently doing research on new generation solar cells as well as applied electrochemical synthesis. The research areas include dye-sensitized solar cells and perovskite solar cells, polymer transport materials based on photopolymerization, inorganic metal oxides, organic light-emitting diodes, charge transport in organic semiconductors, charge dynamics in optoelectronic devices. Professor Zhang is inspired to develop technology that can provide humanity with clean energy and solve environmental problems. His interests cover a clear application and interaction closely with companies, as well as fundamental scientific approaches that involve sophisticated characterization and synthesis.

Professor Zhang has broad research experience in materials science and applications. He obtained his PhD from Department of Chemistry at Uppsala University with supervisor Professor Anders Hagfeldt. He had research internship at ICN2, EPFL, and Paris Diderot University for research collaboration. He did postdoc at Bach group at Monash University for fabricating large area solar cells and silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells. After that he joined Stanford University as Wallenberg Research Fellow in research of developing interfacial engineering methods to enhance reliability of solar cells.

Professor Zhang is serving as academic editor for PLOS ONE and International Journal of Electrochemistry, guest editor for Frontiers. He has published 48 articles with h-index of 21, including 5 ESI highly cited papers and 3 journal covers.
